The Ganassi driver is two hundredths ahead of Will Power (Team Penske) who completes the first row of the grid. Takuma Sato (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) had the potential to fight at the front but the Japanese saw his two best times deleted after blocking Will Power during the session.
