Max Chilton took his first Indy Lights victory by beating Ed Jones at Iowa Speedway. The former Marussia driver F1 Team wanted to pay tribute to his former teammate Jules Bianchi died on the night of July 17 to 18 following his accident at the 2014 Japanese GP.
“I wanted to do this for him.”, commented Max Chilton who won the 100-lap race where he started from pole. “I learned a lot from him. He was a driver who was destined to be world champion. I was often behind him for two years. I occasionally got to be in front of him and he didn't like it. He found a way to be faster. It was difficult and I could never have imagined that something like this would happen. I dedicate this victory to him. »
Max Chilton is in 6th place in the Championship, 105 points behind Jack Harvey.
