Alex Tagliani will make his 7th start at Indy 500 on May 24 by piloting the n°48-Honda entered by AJ Foyt Racing. The poleman of the 2011 edition, whose best result in this event is a 10th place in 2010, finished in 13th place in 2014 after starting from 24th position while driving within the Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing.
The 42-year-old Canadian will pilot a car whose livery will make tribute to Dan Gurney, long-time friend of AJ Foyt with whom he notably won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1967 in a Ford GT40 Mk IV. The American made 9 starts at the Indy 500 between 1962 and 1970 and came close to victory by finishing 2nd in 1968 and 1969. He had made his last 3 starts with the No. 48.
