IndyCar – Will Andretti stay in Sao Paulo?

Marco Andretti has had a very good start to the season with his new Andretti Autosport team. If The American did not win one of the first three events of the season, he constantly climbed into the top ten, the only one with Justin Wilson (Dale Coyne Racing) and Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) to achieve such a performance. The driver of the DW12-Chevrolet n°25 currently occupies fourth place in the Championship, just 12 points behind the leader of the Penske team before tackling the Sao Paulo Indy 300. The Brazilian circuit has never been an opportunity to shine for Marco Andretti, the latter counting as his best result a 10th place acquired last year.

Nevertheless, the Andretti Autosport driver intends to continue his consistency in order to arrive at the Indianapolis 500 at the forefront. “Fourth in the Championship is a great place, but we are close to being at the top of the table. The ideal situation would be to be in the lead before the end of May and then be able to manage. I think if I continue at this pace, the podiums and victories will come. I'm happy with my performances so far but it's still early (in the season). I worked a lot on urban races during the off-season. I have to thank my teammates, especially Ryan (Hunter-Reay). He adapted much better than me to this type of challenge. I'm still a few hundredths away from the top six in qualifying, but it's still better than aiming for a place in the top 12, which was the case last year. »
