IndyCar – Boston joins the 2016 calendar

A new meeting will be added to the 2016 calendar of IndyCar Series. The city of Boston (Massachusetts) will welcome the single-seaters of the American championship on the occasion Labor Day weekend (September 5).

“This is an exciting time for Boston as we explore new ways to grow and attract visitors here. We are engaged in close dialogue with organizations such as the Boston Grand Prix, says Mayor Martin Walsh. This event has great potential to bring an influx of tourism and to support our local businesses. »

The temporary 2,25 mile route (3,621 km) will have eleven turns and will be drawn on the southern streets of the city around the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. “There has been a lot of work from community leaders and Boston Grand Prix officials and those efforts have led to this key addition to our 2016 schedule.” said Mark Miles, chief executive of Hulman & Company, parent company of IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
