IndyCar – Bourdais: “Hats off to Dixon”

Sébastien Bourdais is in a prosperous period. The French KV Racing driver scored the first victory in IndyCar since his return to the United States during the Toronto round, and had an almost perfect weekend at Mid-Ohio. Author of pole position in difficult conditions, on a drying track, the former driver Peugeot en Endurance led the race for a long time last night, but could not counter the ride of Scott Dixon and the strategy of the Ganassi team for its driver who started from last position. The Frenchman admits to having lacked a little success.

“We lacked a bit of luck, explained the four-time Champ Car champion.  The team wanted to switch to the hard tires at the first pit stop, and I thought maybe it was a little early, especially since a lot of drivers switched to the soft tires at the first pit stop. It was the right choice until the yellow flag came out, and we had to do the restart with the hard tires. It was hard. Hats off also to Dixon and the people at Ganassi. We had nothing against them. They deserve it. However, it is a double for Chevrolet. We will continue this momentum! »

Bourdais is 8th in the general rankings with 400 points after Mid-Ohio.
