IndyCar – Bourdais believes he has the right tools with Dale Coyne Racing

After three years spent with KVSH Racing, Sébastien Bourdais so did the choice to return to Dale Coyne who had offered him the opportunity to find the IndyCar Series, after its passage in F1 with Toro Rosso.

But the return of the winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2016 in GTE Pro with Ford is also being carried out with the reinforcement of Olivier Boisson, racing engineer from Manceau at KVSH Racing and Craig Hampson, the engineer who accompanied Bourdais during his golden period in Champ Car, and the four titles dropped out between 2004 and 2007.

“A team of such quality, I have not known since my time in Champ Car, the Frenchman admitted to us. Now we have the tools to do things well. It's motivating and exciting. »

Bourdais will also find the Honda engine block, after having evolved with the competing Chevrolet engine. A parameter which does not seem to worry the returnee within Dale Coyne Racing despite the domination of the American twin-turbo V6 in recent seasons.

“Overall, we have seen Hondas fighting at the front at all times of the season. Chevrolet has the power advantage everywhere, but doing a good job can compensate. » Bourdais explains.

Sébastien Bourdais was able to take charge of his new vehicle last week at Gateway Motorsport Park, and said he was rather satisfied with his first laps.
