IndyCar-C2: Castroneves on pole ahead of SPM drivers in Houston

Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) claimed his second pole of the season, the 40th of his career, at the end of qualifying for Race 2 of the Houston Grand Prix contested in two groups. The Brazilian who occupies second place in the Championship will start in front of the two Schmidt Peterson Motorsports DW12s with Mikhail Aleshi in second position ahead of his teammate simon pagenaud, unfortunate author of pole yesterday who was involved in contact during the first event.

The French are at the forefront since Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing) will have another opportunity to fight at the front by starting from fifth place after finishing just off the podium in Race 1. The four-time champion will start between Graham Rahal (RLL Racing) and Justin Wilson ( Dale Coyne Racing). Carlos Huertas (Dale Coyne Racing) will only start from 13th place but the Colombian will still be one to watch since he won yesterday even though he started from 19th position on the grid. Will Power (Team Penske) will have to try to achieve a similar feat since the Championship leader only obtained 18th place.
