IndyCar – Castroneves on pole at Road America

Helio Castroneves won the 50th pole of his career in IndyCar by winning qualifying at Road America (Wisconsin). The Brazilian achieved a time of 1'41''3007 in Fast Six, ahead of his closest teammate, Will Power, by 6 hundredths. Team Penske achieved a perfect result with Josef Newgarden 3rd in front simon pagenaud.

The fight for the lead in the Championship promises to be hotly contested since the leader of the Drivers' standings Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) will start from 5th place just behind Poitevin, ahead of Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing).

Takuma Sato (Andretti Autosport), the winner of the 101st edition of the Indy 500, only took 20th position.
