IndyCar – Can Dixon continue at Mid-Ohio?

Scott Dixon will still have to be watched closely this weekend on the Mid-Ohio road course. The double champion ofIndyCar is in a state of grace at the moment since he has won no less than three victories in a row, which allows him to occupy second place in the Championship behind Helio Castroneves. The driver of the No. 12 DW9 hopes to continue this series at Mid-Ohio where he won in the last two editions. " I hope so. We have experienced a turning point in this Championship. Before Pocono, I was 92 points behind the leader and I came back to 29 points to occupy second place. Mid-Ohio was a great track for us...I think these results came from a combination of the team. We have always had good results here with both cars which are very competitive. If we manage to find the right trick, we can try to repeat the feat on each route. »

The winner of the 500 Indianapolis 2008 still admits to being surprised by this series of performances which completely changes his outlook for the end of the season which still has five meetings. “It was really surprising to get three wins in a row. Pocono was the most notable. My first words to Chip (Ganassi, owner of the eponymous team) when I got out of the car were that I hadn't expected to finish in this position when I got up in the morning. We are in a better position when we start the weekend with such confidence in the team. We had some issues on the first day in Toronto, but we were able to quickly resolve them and achieve the best possible result at the end of the weekend. »

Scott Dixon set the sixth fastest time yesterday the Open Test at Mid-Ohio half a second behind Ryan Hunter-Reay.
