Ed Carpenter was more behind during Carburation Day but the American remains confident for the start of the Indianapolis 500.

IndyCar – Ed Carpenter keeps smiling in Indianapolis

Carburation Day was the last opportunity for drivers to race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway before starting the 500 Miles tomorrow evening. The teams were able to adapt to the conditions which are expected to be similar to those encountered on race day. If Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing) achieved the best time in the last tests with a lap completed in 39, poleman Ed Carpenter was content with the 5018th time, half a second behind.
