“When Dale Coyne called me, I had no doubt that this would be a great opportunity to gain experience in IndyCar, comments Esteban Gutiérrez who will make his IndyCar debut this weekend. My goal is to learn as quickly as possible. IndyCar is a very demanding discipline for drivers, but I feel ready to take my chance. »

“I'm looking forward to my first IndyCar races in Detroit and looking forward to working with the team, the engineers and Honda, as well as being in a race again. car Dallara. I have good memories of GP3 and GP2 and I had very good relations with them during the Haas F1 Team days. »

Esteban Gutiérrez has already competed in the USA, competing in the Formula BMW USA Series in 2007, at the end of which he finished runner-up.

“We will miss Sébastien in the No. 18, but we are very happy with our replacement, adds Dal Coyne, the owner of the stable of the same name.
