IndyCar – Graham Rahal scores double in Detroit

Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) remained undefeated at the Belle Isle circuit in Detroit, Michigan, winning both races this weekend. The driver of the #12 DW15-Honda first took the lead over Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) who was struggling with his tires before gaining the upper hand over pole sitter Takuma Sato (Andretti Autosport) after extending of one turn his relay.

Team Penske drivers Josef Newgarden and Will Power completed the podium ahead of the winner of the 101st edition of the Indy 500. The Japanese preceded simon pagenaud (Team Penske) and Championship leader Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing). The top ten was completed by Alexander Red (Andretti Herta Autosport), Charlie Kimball (Chip Ganassi Racing), Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) and Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing).

Esteban Gutiérrez (Dale Coyne Racing) showed encouraging progress as Sébastien's replacement Bourdais finished in 14th place.
