IndyCar – Hildebrand and Filippi will finish with Barracuda Racing

JR Hildebrand and Luca Filippi have both just reached an agreement with Barracuda Racing, Bryan Herta's team. Until the end of the season, the two men will share the wheel of the No. 98 Dallara-Honda.

For the first city, it will be a return to IndyCar Series. Hired by Panther Racing at the start of the season, the Californian was forced to leave his team after his poor performance at the last 500 miles of Indianapolis, where he hit the wall on the 4th lap. The 2009 Firestone Indy Lights championship champion will ride at the next round in Sonoma, on August 25, as well as in Fontana, for the last meeting of the season, on October 19. “I’m super excited to join Barracuda Racing this year, and I have to say a big thank you to Bryan Herta and his team for this opportunity., declared the main person concerned. Sonoma is where I made my racing debut, so it will be great to have a new experience there with a new team, that I haven't heard anything about except good things. »

Author of a convincing race at Mid-Ohio for his first appearance at the top of the car American, Luca Filippi convinced his employer to give him other outings. Thus the Italian, who we were able to see racing in GP2 last year, will be competing in three races in town: at the Baltimore Grand Prix, on September 1, as well as at the double meeting in Houston, next October 5 and 6. “We were really impressed with Luca and we are happy to give him further opportunities, noted Bryan Herta, boss of Barracuda Racing. He made a good impression on everyone, and that gives him the opportunity to ride on American-style city circuits! ».
