IndyCar – Hunter-Reay, the star of the Milwaukee Mile

The Milwaukee Mile is a valuable event forIndyCar, but the most impatient is certainly Ryan Hunter-Reay. The driver of the No. 12 DW28 has three victories to his credit, including two in a row in recent years. The Andretti Autosport resident, who is 63 points behind Championship leader Will Power, is therefore the favorite contender for success in this 250-lap event. “I won my first victory on an oval there in 2004. I led all the laps under the lights and that night was magnificent”, recalls the 2012 champion. “My second victory meant a lot in my fight for the title and I wanted to mark the occasion last year for Father's Day since my son was present. »

Ryan Hunter-Reay is familiar with the characteristics of this particular event which draws on the experience of the drivers. “Every driver has a different riding style and some need a car more understeer than others », specifies the American. “It feels like you're constantly in traffic and an overtake can take five or six laps to complete. It’s a track where it makes you think. Any legend of the discipline will place this oval in their two or three favorite circuits. Andretti Autosport has fielded competitive cars for the last five or six seasons. There is a lot of work to do if we don't start from pole or at the front. The track is constantly evolving and the competition is always at its best level. »
