Canadian James Hinchcliffe has left the intensive care unit at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and continues his recovery.

IndyCar – James Hinchcliffe leaves intensive care

Accident last Monday in free practice in Indianapolis, after a suspension problem according to a Honda spokesperson, James Hinchcliffe was transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital in the American city for treatment, seriously injured in the thigh and pelvic region. After his operation, the Schmidt Peterson Motorsports – Honda driver was subsequently placed in intensive care.

This Wednesday, the Canadian was able to leave this unit and will continue his convalescence, his condition not requiring further interventions. He is expected to fully recover from his injuries. “We are very happy with his progress and his condition continues to improve, specifies Dr Pohlman who operated on Hinchcliffe. We expect, in consultation with the medical staff of theIndyCar, until recovery is normal. »

Hinchcliffe has been declared unavailable for the moment and his team has yet to announce the name of a potential replacement for the seat of the #12 DW5 for the 500 mile race which will be contested this Sunday from 18:15 p.m. French time.
