IndyCar – KV Racing confirms the end of its activities

Kevin Kalkhoven and Jimmy Vasser, the two owners of KV Racing Technology, have confirmed the end of the team's operations after 14 years of competition. The future of the structure which hired Sébastien full-time Bourdais last year was uncertain for several weeks, with rumors of a recovery persisting.

“First and foremost I want to thank the fans who have supported the team over the past few years. I would also like to thank Kevin Kalkhoven for giving me this unique opportunity to move from driver to team boss while continuing to be behind the wheel.", commented Jimmy Vasser, the 1996 CART champion who evolved as boss-driver during the launch of the team.

“I am very proud to have joined this team and I will always have thoughts of the staff and drivers who worked for our success. We've had our ups and downs, but I will forever remember our victory in the 500 Indianapolis 2013 (with Tony Kanaan). L'IndyCar has been part of my life for 25 years and she is part of my soul”, added Jimmy Vasser.

KV Racing Technology won 7 times in Champ Car and IndyCar, with 4 successes for Sébastien Bourdais who found refuge this year within Dale Coyne Racing. Christiano da Matta took the first victory for the team in 2005. Will Power also added a trophy to the tally three years later. Patrick Lamarié (2003) and Tristan Gommendy (2007) are the two other French people with Bourdais to have defended the colors of the structure.

The KV Racing Technology equipment was sold to Ricardo Juncos, owner of a Mazda Road to Indy team who is aiming for an entry in IndyCar.
