IndyCar – Chip Ganassi Racing reduces the sail

Chip Ganassi Racing will go from four to two cars in 2018 as confirmed by the boss of the team of the same name. Scott Dixon, third in the Championship, four-time champion and winner of the Indy 500 in 2008, is the only driver to be confirmed next year in the No. 9. The driver of the No. 10 will be confirmed later.

“We are forced to let a number of good people go with this kind of news, commented Chip Ganassi. This decision was not taken lightly, but we felt it was the best choice for our business. This is one of the hardest things to do as a business owner because I know they are the ones who brought success to this team. »

If Scott Dixon had another solid season, his teammates were significantly further behind. Tony Kanaan only finished tenth ahead of Max Chilton while Charlie Kimball finished in 17th position. The 2004 champion had already previously announced that he would not continue with CGR next year and is likely to join AJ Foyt Racing. The New Zealander was the only one to win in the Ganassi clan this year.
