IndyCar – The Boston GP in danger

The Grand Prix of Boston (Massachusetts) scheduled for September 4 during Labor Day should be canceled according to the promoters and the American press. If the officials of theIndyCar have not yet confirmed the news, several newspapers such as the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe announced that the test would not take place.

“An event of this magnitude requires considerable support from the city and state. While we have managed to overcome significant obstacles presented to us, the latest demands regarding the flooding issues and the additional expenses to be made with no guarantee of resolving these issues leave us with no choice but to cancel the Boston race and consider other options », commented John Casey, president of the Boston GP.

IndyCar therefore refuses for the moment to confirm the news even if it remains evasive on the future of the event.

“IndyCar is aware of the news regarding the Boston Grand Prix. We are obviously disappointed with these articles and we are seeking more details before responding in due course. It is still too early for IndyCar to comment further on the situation in Boston or seek an alternative event. »
