IndyCar – Chevrolet’s “superspeedway” aero kit

After Honda, it’s Chevrolet’s turn to present its aero kit reserved for “superspeedways”. This version was designed to reduce drag as much as possible. The engine cover and exhaust outlets will remain similar to the “road” aero kit but will still be optimized to improve top speed. The rear wing is surprising with its simplicity and very reduced height.

“It is necessary to reduce aero downforce on superspeedways in order to improve top speed while maintaining a sufficient level of grip. Innovative design has been used to develop the perfect balance of downforce and drag alongside engine performance”, comments Chris Berube, program manager IndyCar at Chevrolet.

The first public tests of the “superspeedways” aero kits will be carried out during the Open Test held on May 3 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
