IndyCar – Honda’s “superspeedway” aero kit

Honda Performance Development presented its aero kit reserved for “superspeedways” in IndyCar which will supply its 6 customer teams. This low downforce kit with cleaner lines and fewer aero appendages will optimize the top speed of single-seaters. It was established by CFD (computer study of fluids) and validated in a simulator. Full-scale wind tunnel tests confirmed the performance.

“With our Honda Indy V6s, these aero kits represent thousands of hours of research, development and testing. We want to give the best tools to our drivers so that they can win in the race which represents the main objective of the season for Honda: the Indianapolis 500 (May 24) », comments Art St. Cyr, president of HPD.

The first public tests of the “superspeedways” aero kits will be carried out during the Open Test held on May 3 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
