IndyCar – Legge wants to sue Dragon

Sebastian Saavedra was preferred to Katherine Legge to compete in the 2013 season ofIndyCar within Dragon Racing alongside Sébastien Bourdais. The news goes badly for the Briton who had signed a two-year contract with Jay Penske's team. Today, the 32-year-old native of Guilfors plans to take her former team to court. “I am extremely disappointed that Dragon Racing and partner TrueCar have announced the replacement on the #6. I signed a contract for 2012 and 2013 with TrueCar as a partner and brought that sponsorship back to Dragon Racing right after. I truly believed that Dragon Racing and TrueCar could not continue without me and I will take legal action to defend my rights. »

Katherine Legge still struggled to shine at the end of her first season with Dragon Racing where she returned to the discipline after three years spent in DTM. The Briton has only scored one top ten in ten events contested. The team preferred to change its crew for the next season where it displays increasing ambitions after having retained Sébastien Bourdais and having adapted to the Chevrolet engine which is much more efficient than the Lotus unit. “We thank Katherine Legge for her time with Dragon Racing”, commented Dragon Racing Executive Vice President Paul Woolnough. “But unfortunately our title sponsor and Dragon Racing decided it was best for the team to move forward in another direction. » The team then clarified that it had done its best to resolve the conflict in an amicable manner and that neither party involved would make any further statements on the matter.
