IndyCar – Montoya returns to victory at Indy 500

Juan Pablo Montoya returns to victory at the Indianapolis 500, 15 years after its first success on the legendary American oval, and thus increases its lead in the Championship at the end of the 99th edition of the event. The Colombian fought a final duel with his teammate Will Power joined by the pole sitter Scott Dixon (Ganassi Racing), Team Penske signing a double. The 1999 Champ Car World Series champion, however, got off to a bad start with damage to the rear following contact forcing him to switch to a different strategy.

Charlie kimball (Chip Ganassi Racing) completes the top three in front of his teammate Scott Dixon. Graham rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) completes the top 5 ahead Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport) and Helio Castroneves (Team Penske).

The French lacked success. While he constantly fought at the forefront, simon pagenaud only finished 10th after having to pit to change his front wing. The Poitevin rider made a tremendous comeback in the final laps after starting at the back of the peloton. The Penske driver is ahead of his compatriot Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing). Tristan Vautier (Dale Coyne Racing) retired after being unwillingly involved in an accident in the pit lane.
