IndyCar – Pagenaud: “I no longer have respect for Newgarden”

simon pagenaud did not appreciate the maneuver of his teammate Josef Newgarden during the raceIndyCar contested last weekend at Gateway International Raceway. The reigning champion was overtaken on the 217th lap by the other Penske driver who damaged the left flank of the car in the process. car du Poitevin finally 3rd behind Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing).

“On a road circuit, it would have been a very good overtaking, but here we are on an oval, at more than 300km/h… It’s dangerous. If he hadn't been my teammate, he'd end up in the wall, assured Simon Pagenaud on NBCSN. His maneuver proves that he has no respect for me, so I no longer have any for him..."

Simon Pagenaud is in 4th place in the Championship, 43 points behind Josef Newgarden, leader of the Drivers' standings with two meetings remaining at the end of the season.
