IndyCar – Pagenaud, serious contender for Long Beach

simon pagenaud returns to the Long Beach street circuit, a 1,968 mile track where he distinguished himself last year by signing his best result in IndyCar with a second place behind Will Power (Team Penske). After starting with a retirement due to a mechanical problem in St Petersburg and a sixth position at Barber Motorsports Park, the Schmidt Motorsports resident arrives as a serious contender for victory on the Florida circuit. “The rhythm of this circuit is reminiscent of music, it’s like a song. The rhythm I find behind the wheel of my car on this race makes this event really enjoyable. We finished in second place last year and were really able to fight Will Power at the end of the race for the win. I hope we can achieve a similar performance this season. »

His teammate and compatriot Tristan Vautier made a brilliant debut in the discipline even if he has not yet managed to finish at the front. The Schmidt Motorsports rookie still scored his first top ten at Barber. “After struggling to get my rhythm back in the first few after my pit stops, I will be looking to improve in this area at Long Beach. I already feel comfortable within the team. We can always look for better things but everyone impresses me with their work in the stable. »
