IndyCar – Several races outside the USA from 2018?

THEIndyCar benefited from media enthusiasm this year with the commitment of Fernando Alonso at Indy 500 with McLaren-Honda-Andretti. The significant benefits for the American Single-seater Championship encourage the organizers to consider the creation of other events outside the USA.

Mark Miles confirmed this objective to AUTOhebdo by discussing the future prospects of IndyCar so that it reaches an even wider audience.

“We aim to start the 2018 season a month earlier, at the beginning of February, with two races abroad before continuing on our territory from mid-March, explained Mark Miles… These two races, for reasons of weather conditions, will not be run in Europe, but in countries of the southern hemisphere such as Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America or the Middle East. East. We are confident of adding these two rounds next year..."

IndyCar is currently making only one trip outside the USA with the Toronto event in Canada. The last trip to the southern hemisphere dates back to 2013 when the discipline went to Sao Paulo in Brazil.
