Australian Will Power dominated the qualifying session on the Texas oval. Team Penske achieves the hat-trick with Simon Pagenaud and Helio Castroneves.

IndyCar – Power beats Pagenaud in qualifying at Texas

The Dallara DW12s? Chevrolet from Team Penske seems to be the cars to beat on the Texas oval. After the domination of simon pagenaud in free practice earlier in the day, it was his Australian teammate Will Power who came to secure a new pole position in qualifying.

The reigning champion of IndyCar Series showed itself to be the most energetic over the two flying laps with an average speed of 218,519 mph (351,672 km / h) for a total time of 47″941, and ahead of his teammates Simon Pagenaud and Helio Castroneves, which ensures a hat-trick for Roger Penske's stable. It's Power's third straight pole at Texas.

Winner of the first race in Detroit (Michigan) last weekend, the Colombian Carlos Muñoz (Andretti Autosport) placed first car equipped with the Honda kit in fourth position, just ahead of the winner of the Indianapolis 500 Juan-Pablo Montoya (Team Penske). Recalled to Dale Coyne Racing, Tristan Vautier ranks 16th at the wheel of the #12 DW19-Honda. Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing? Chevrolet), back on Victory Lane in Detroit, only finished 18th.
