IndyCar – What future for this championship?

“Our strategy is: we have to find a title sponsor. The health of any brand or competition requires a title sponsor,” says Greene. “We are close to an opportunity. We must ensure that this is positive for theIndyCar and for the sponsor. »

The future assumes unchanged priorities, with security coming first. Dario Franchitti's accident in Houston caused a few injuries in the stands, all of which were treated on the circuit without any notable incident. “The top priority is safety. We must ensure that everyone involved in and around an accident, past or present, receives immediate medical attention. »

“We were all lucky in Houston. I believe the necessary steps were taken in terms of preparation and safety measures put in place. High speed racing is risky. There are specific, pre-established and repeated processes to predict the situations that arise,” he explains.

Does the future of IndyCar have a place in Europe? “While Europe is very important to us, other territories are slightly prioritized at the moment, given the drivers on the grid. But make no mistake: we believe that Europe, along with many other places, is important and has a place in IndyCar's growth strategy. »

The 2014 IndyCar calendar has just been revealed and includes a few changes, including a shorter season that will end at the end of August rather than October, as is the case this season with the finale at Fontana this weekend.
