IndyCar – Rahal snatches victory from Hinchcliffe

Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) took his first victory in IndyCar from Mid-Ohio in 2015 by snatching success at the end of the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway which ended 76 days after the start of the event and which was postponed due to rainy weather.

The end of the race offered a breathtaking duel between Graham Rahal and James Hinchcliffe (Schmidt Motorsports) who lost eight thousandths behind at the finish line. “It was pretty intense. But if the crowd at Texas Motor Speedway didn't like the show, then they must not like the racing because it's by far the greatest thing we've seen here.", commented the winner.

Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing) completed the podium in front simon pagenaud (Team Panske) who regains a little lead over his teammate Will Power eighth in the event. Poitevin gained eight points from its Australian rival to have a 28-unit lead.

Helio Castroneves completed the top five ahead of Charlie Kimball and Carlos Munoz. Sebastian Bourdais (KVSH Racing) took tenth place behind Juan Pablo Montoya (Team Penske).

If the race took place for 140 laps under a green flag, the first interruption came following contact between Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Ed Carpenter (Ed Carpenter Racing). Although the latter was able to continue the race, he made a mistake ten laps later. Mikhail Aleshin (Schmidt Peterson Motorsport) also caused an accident by spinning on lap 232 which Jack Hawksworth (A.J Foyt Racing) was unable to avoid.
