IndyCar – Scott Dixon rules the roost in Texas

Scott Dixon won the Firestone 600 held at the 1,455-mile Texas Motor Speedway, signing his second victory of the season after Long Beach (California), the 37th of his career. The New Zealander dominated the event, leading from the 194th lap out of the 238 contested.

“It didn't start very well because I had a lot of understeer, but the car was then back on track once we found the right balance”, explained the winner who had already won on the Texan oval in 2008.

The three-time championIndyCar was helped by a smooth race marked by a single yellow flag and won with a lead of 7"8 over his teammate Tony Canaan which offers a double to Ganassi Racing, the team celebrating its 99th victory in the discipline.

Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) completes the podium in front of his teammate Juan Pablo Montoya. The last winner of the Indianapolis 500 now has a 35-point lead over Will Power (Team Penske) only 13th.

simon pagenaud (Team Penske) took 12th place while Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing) placed 14th. Tristan Vautier (Dale Coyne Racing) retired due to a mechanical problem.
