Indycar – Sébastien Bourdais back in testing

For the first time since his accident during qualifying practice for the Indianapolis 500 last May, Sébastien Bourdais will get back behind the wheel of his Dale Coyne Racing this Monday during private tests organized on the Mid-Ohio road circuit.

« I wouldn't be here to make my comeback if I wasn't ready, explains the Frenchman to NBCSN. For the moment these are just tests, we will see how it goes. »

This is the first comeback opportunity for Bourdais, and although it is premature in doctors' opinion, it is the only possible one to consider racing at Watkins Glen in September.

« I feel good physically. We will do a first test tomorrow. Afterwards, the timing becomes tight and I probably won't have any other testing opportunities. Everyone is here, and they just have to stay one more night to do a few hours of testing and we'll see how it goes."

These tests took place just after a very difficult race for Dale Coyne Racing, with Esteban Gutierrez finishing second to last and Ed Jones having been forced to retire.
