IndyCar – Sébastien Bourdais: “A very different 2018 single-seater”

2018 will mark the debut of the new universal aero kit in IndyCar that the drivers were able to test during the off-season. After several seasons spent with kits developed by Chevrolet and Honda, Sébastien Bourdais details his first impressions behind the wheel of the car 2018.

The large reduction in aerodynamic downforce with the new kit offers new characteristics. « There's a lot of movement from the back, which I'm not a big fan of, explains Bourdais on the discipline’s website. But it's too early to say where we'll be with the car in the end.

We have things to try before we run out of ideas. It's going to take time, I'm sure. It will be up to us to find mechanical solutions to find stability and put everything together. It's a very different car from what we've had before. It's going to require different things. »

This car really needs to be taken care of. We still have a lot of work to do. We have just started. »
