IndyCar – Simon Pagenaud begins Indiana campaign

When we think of Indianapolis in motorsport, we immediately come to the 500 Miles. The famous American race will however be preceded this season by a race using the old circuit of F1, which passes over the Infield (route drawn in the middle of the oval) before returning to the legendary ring at the end of the route.
“It’s a great achievement. explains Poitevin. They really did an outstanding job on the track. This is very suitable forIndyCar. Its coating is perfectly smooth. Without doubt the smoothest of all the tracks we have the opportunity to ride on. The route alternates high and medium speed curves and lots of braking. This requires a good driving rhythm and bodes well for the race. »

During the testing sessions conducted on this track by the teams, the Honda-powered DW12 from Schmidt Peterson Motorsports regularly climbed into the top 5. Enough to delight the current 3rd in the championship. “I'm very happy with the level of work done by the team and also looking forward to the fans coming to see us race on the road in Indianapolis. It is the most famous oval circuit in the world, but it will be an opportunity for the public to see all the diversity that our championship can offer during this first Grand Prix of Indianapolis. »

simon pagenaud remains in a fourth place in Barber during the last round of IndyCar, who will now set down his bags for the end of May in Indiana and the next two races.
