IndyCar – Spencer Pigot extends at Ed Carpenter Racing

Spencer Pigot will play his second season in IndyCar by continuing to defend the colors of Ed Carpenter Racing on the No. 20 during the ten urban and road events on the 2017 calendar, the owner-driver of the team of the same name being entered in the races contested on ovals.

The 2014 Pro Mazda Championship champion took advantage of the reward obtained the following year with his Indy Lights title to compete in three races in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing before moving to Ed Carpenter Racing after the Indianapolis 500 where he finished 25th.

“It’s a real relief to know that I have a complete program to compete in all the city and road races. I will be able to start my preparation now, enthused Spencer Pigot. I learned a lot during my rookie season and I plan to capitalize on this experience. I know that I have a team that will allow me to fight at the forefront and that is what I will try to do. »

Spencer Pigot will see his program completed by theIMSA where he is entered with a Mazda RT-24P in the four NAEC events with the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring (Florida), the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (New York) and Petit Le Mans (Georgia).
