IndyCar – Tony Kanaan stepped up to the plate

Free practice for the Indianapolis 500 was marked by several accidents, those of Helio Castroneves (Team Penske? Chevrolet) Josef Newgarden (CFH Racing? Chevrolet) and Ed Carpenter (CFH Racing? Chevrolet). Hence multiple questions addressed to the drivers, to find out if they were worried before the race.

“Type “Indy 500 accident” into Google and tell me if there was one just this week. claimed Tony Kanaan, driver of Chip Ganassi Racing? Chevrolet. This is one of the reasons why this race is what it is. Motorsport has always been dangerous and is much less so now than in the past. But it’s annoying that we only talk about that…”.

THEIndyCar subsequently asked the teams to take part in qualifying with the settings they would use in the race, where no accidents similar to those seen in testing occurred. As for the Brazilian, long ranked among the leading men last Sunday, he crashed into the wall on the 151st lap, putting an end to his hopes of a second success at the Brickyard after 2013.
