IndyCar – Zach Claman DeMelo alternating with Fittipaldi

Dale Coyne Racing has finalized its crews for the 2018 season with the confirmation of Zach Claman DeMelo who will alternate with Pietro Fittipaldi.

IndyCar – Zach Claman DeMelo alternating with Fittipaldi

Zach Claman DeMelo will replace Pietro fittipaldi on the nine events of the 2018 seasonIndyCar where the reigning World Series champion Formula V8 3.5 will be absent. The 19-year-old Canadian will make his debut for Dale Coyne Racing at the first round of the year at the St Petersburg GP (Florida, March 11) before returning to Long Beach (California, April 15) and Barber Motorsports Park (Alabama, April 22). The rest of his program has not yet been announced but it will be the Brazilian who will have the privilege of being at the start of the Indy 500 on May 27.

Zach Claman DeMelo is coming off two seasons in Indy Lights where he notably finished in fifth place in the Championship last year while playing for Carlin with a victory to boot (at Road America, Wisconsin). He took his first steps in IndyCar by competing in the final in Sonoma (California) in 2017 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Both pilots will be supported by Paysafe, a British company specializing in online payments.

Dale Coyne Racing, which now has support from Jimmy Vasser and James Sullivan, will enter a second DW12-Honda full-time for Sébastien Bourdais.
