Following a call for tenders launched by Andersen Promotions which pitted five engine suppliers against each other, it was the company AER managed by Rob and Chris Dyson, which finally signed an agreement with IndyLights until 2019.
“I am very pleased with the interest from many manufacturers in the 2015 IndyLights car, said Dan Andersen, director of Andersen Promotions. The AER engine we chose for our new IndyLights car has proven its reliability and performance. If we add push-to-pass, we can say that we have a very interesting package for drivers. The series is going to be spectacular and will be good training for the drivers. »
The block, which will be used in the all-new Dallara IL-15, will be based on the AER-P07 2.0 L 4-cylinder turbo engine, already victorious in endurance racing. With an estimated longevity of 6000 miles (approximately 9600 km. Editor's note), the AER-P07 block from IndyLights, with a power of 450 horsepower, should be able to cover a full season without major maintenance.
