Jimmie Johnson in IndyCar in 2021

This is what we call hitting it big. For the next two seasons, the Chip Ganassi Racing team has secured the services of the multiple champion of the Nascar Jimmie Johnson thus offering him the opportunity to make his debut in car. A new challenge that the 44-year-old Californian is ready and eager to take on.

« When I test drove Chip's car (Ganassi, owner of the stable) earlier in the year my interest grew. I realized that I wanted to do it more often, Jimmie Johnson mouse. Working with Scott (Dixon, driver for Chip Ganassi Racing) was incredible and I quickly understood why Chip and his teams won 12 championshipsIndyCar ».

Linked to Chip Ganassi Racing for the next two seasons, Jimmie Johnson aims to complete the program of road and urban circuits, thus leaving aside the ovals, for the moment. If the health crisis has slowed down his adaptation to IndyCar, the driver will be entitled to new tests before launching into the deep end next year.
