Indycar in Nashville in 2021

THEIndycar will soon have something in him from Tennessee. On August 8, 2021, the North American championship will travel to Nashville for the first time for the Music City Grand Prix, at the home of a certain Josef Newgarden. The race will take place on a temporary 3,5 km circuit in the heart of the city, around the Nissan Stadium, designed to provide numerous overtaking possibilities.

Envisioned as a “sound festival”, the event will be accompanied by concerts inside the stadium, which will serve as a paddock. This will be the first street circuit added to the calendar since 2013.

“It will be a unique experience” according to Mark Miles, president of Penske entairtainment corp. “Nashville is a world-class city and entertainment capital that provides an exceptional platform for our series. Urban street festivals have become a big part of our DNA and this three-day festival – complete with a boundary-pushing circuit – will showcase all that Nashville and sports have to offer.”

The full schedule for the 2021 season will be announced within a month.
