IndyCar extends with Pocono

The “Tricky Triangle” of Pocono (Pennsylvania) has been extended to the calendarIndyCar for the next two seasons. The ABC Supply 500 will be contested this year on Sunday August 21 for the fourth consecutive meeting of the discipline on this oval.

“We are pleased to be able to announce that we will host IndyCar through 2018, commented Brandon Igdalsky, president of Pocono Raceway. Our track was originally created to accommodate single-seaters and our spectators enjoy the action on the track. It’s sensational to see these cars six or seven abreast. We have also received positive feedback from the teams and drivers. »

« It is a unique oval which has a great history of single-seater racing, added Jay Frye, IndyCar president of competition and operations. It is clear that Pocono is one of the favorite circuits for drivers, teams and the public. »

Pocono Raceway also hosts the Nascar twice a year. The next Sprint Cup event is scheduled for August 31.
