IndyCar extends contract with Dallara

Present in IndyCar since 1997, Dallara will continue its involvement in the American series until 2020. The announcement was made this Thursday by the championship organizers.

In line since 2012, the DW12 chassis, named in homage to Dan Wheldon, who died a few months earlier in an accident on the Las Vegas (Nevada) track, will therefore be entered for the next few years.

As previously announced, the development of aerodynamic kits will be frozen this season, before the arrival of a universal kit in 2018. A series of drawings has also been published to give a first glimpse of what the 2018 single-seaters will be like. The objective is to present a first car for the 101st edition of the Indianapolis 500 next May.

« Dallara's continued participation in our sport provides IndyCar and our competitors with enormous confidence,  said IndyCar Chairman Jay Frye. Dallara has been a major partner of the series for 20 years and we are delighted to extend nour relationship with them. »
