IndyCar returns to Laguna Seca

Missing from the calendar IndyCar since 2004, after having hosted the series since 1983, the Californian route of Laguna Seca will return to the series in 2019. The legendary American circuit will serve as the stage for the season finale, as during the period 1989-1996, replacing the Sonoma meeting,

The event will be contested on the weekend of September 20-22. The complex remained visited by theIMSA ces dernières années.

“Bringing IndyCar back to Laguna Seca is a tremendous honor and a testament to Monterey’s appeal, and thanks to the county’s support, it will bring a significant economic bonus to our region’s businesses, said Timothy McGrane, general manager of Laguna Seca.

We look forward to creating more memories in fans' minds like Bobby Rahal's four consecutive victories from 1984 to 1987, Mario Andretti's farewell race in 1994 and Alex Zanardi's last lap overtake on Bryan Herta in the "Corkscrew" in 1996, known as "The Pass".

The rest of the 2019 calendar will be revealed later.
