Drivers excited about Laguna Seca tests

The first test session of theIndyCar on the Laguna Seca circuit (California) in 2019, organized on February 8, brought smiles to the 21 invited drivers. All the drivers entered in 2019 were there, except for A.J. Foyt Racing and Steinbrenner Harding Racing. These tests were the first opportunity to see the American single-seaters on the famous Corkscrew corner:

Prepared unofficially, without the help of the championship organizers, the session prohibited the recording of official times. However, an IndyCar press release indicated that Max Chilton (Carlin) had one of the best times.

“I love this circuit, the Briton got excited. I feel comfortable there, and what's more, the guys on the team worked hard during the winter. It had been five months since I had driven the car and they managed to develop it », explains the man who scored two poles in Indy Lights in 2015 at Laguna Seca.

The winner of the 500 Indianapolis 2016 Alexander Red (Andretti) was also happy to ride on this track. “ My father took me there for the first time when I was three years old. Although I no longer remember the race, it was a father-son activity that we continued until I was 11, when I started running. karting."
