When you do well at school, you usually receive a small reward from your parents. For Scott McLaughlin, his two Australian Supercars titles and victory at the Bathurst 1K led to a test at the IndyCar rookie tests in Sebring (Florida), this Monday, January 12.

The 26-year-old New Zealander piloted the car built by Dallara under the watchful eye of Team Penske regulars in North America. Josef Newgarden, simon pagenaud and Will Power indeed accompanied the beginner on the rough US circuit, as did the four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, Rick Mears.
“Unbelievable, this car is a beast, rejoiced Scott McLaughlin after more than 140 laps completed. It's everything I dreamed of! I am so grateful to Roger and Tim Penske. It was a big day. My neck is a little sore.
We ended with a long relay, but I was able to taste everything: race relay, qualifying runs, different fuel fills and pit exit procedure. It was very cool! »
