O'Ward and Herta at Harding – Steinbrenner in 2019

The wedding Harding Racing – Steinbrenner Racing will give birth to the entry of two single-seaters in 2019 in IndyCar. Mike Harding, boss of Harding Racing who entered a car this year at the highest level of the car American, and George Steinbrenner IV, owner of Steinbrenner Racing seen in Indy Lights, formalized their association yesterday and will trust the youth for the next season.

Colton herta, son of Bryan Herta and 2018 Indy Lights runner-up, will be one of the team's starters, and will be supported by the reigning Indy Lights champion Patrick O'Ward. Both had already competed under the Harding Racing banner during the season finale in Sonoma, California last weekend.

“I am extremely happy to take the plunge into IndyCar, confesses George Michael Steinbrenner IV. Since I was a child, my goal was to be an owner in IndyCar and I am very excited to do it with Harding Racing.

This is a team that shares our values: they don't just want to be here, but they are a pillar of the series. This will continue to be our goal as we partner with a team that shares the same ideals.

I'm happy to have two of the best young drivers on this continent making the step to IndyCar at such an early age with Harding Steinbrenner. We look forward to watching them mature and compete to take on the IndyCar veterans. »

Colton Herta will drive the #88 car while Patricio O'Ward will line up in the #8. This season, Harding Racing trusted Chevrolet as its engine manufacturer.
