Oriol Servia leaves for Dreyer & Reinbold

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has selected Oriol Servia to compete in the 2012 season. The Spaniard will thus have the task of flying the colors of the Lotus-powered team high throughout the season. Although he has distinguished himself in numerous teams, this will be the first time that he will drive for Dennis Reinbold's team. Even if he never established himself in IndyCar Series, he still displayed impressive consistency by qualifying in third place in the Indy 500 and recording eleven finishes in the top ten last year, which allowed him to finish the season in fourth place in the Championship.

“I couldn’t be more motivated”, says Oriol Servia. “Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is a team that I have been competing against since 2008 and they have always been very professional on the track. I didn't know the team owners well but I couldn't find anyone who didn't speak highly of them, which gave me confidence. I started at the front at the Indy 500 and I want to improve that further. I am at the peak of my career and it was important for me to join the right team. I was impressed when visiting the team structures. We are starting with a new chassis and a new engine and I have all my confidence in Lotus to have a quality engine. »
