Unbeatable power, Dixon in power

Team Penske, before the race, had already done part of the work, the three drivers having placed themselves in the first three places on the grid. It was still necessary to confirm in the race, and that is what Will Power did very well. The Australian, who was only taking part in his fifth race in eleven events this season, started perfectly and kept the lead throughout the race. His pit stops, during the 33rd and 63rd laps, allowed a change of leader, but everything returned to normal quickly, after the other competitors had refueled.

The race was marked by the incident which occurred on Tony Kanaan?s car, with ethanol leaking onto his bonnet. Besides this incident, the race was masterfully led by the Penske team drivers: Power, Briscoe and Castroneves. The latter, second for a long time, found himself fourth after his second refueling. But the Brazilian was able to string together fast laps to catch up with Ryan Briscoe, then Scott Dixon, in order to finish second behind an unstoppable Will Power. The Australian will have spent 90 of the 95 laps in the lead. In the general classification, Scott Dixon takes the reins of the?Indycar, with a slim lead over Dari Franchitti and Ryan Briscoe. Helio Castroneves is further away and will have to fight to close the gap.
