The discipline is currently going through a complicated period where its director Randy Bernard is not spared from the criticism which continues to grow in recent times, in particular his desire to maintain double file restarts considered dangerous by some.

Chip Ganassi wanted to support the president of IndyCar who has been going through a difficult time lately. “There are lots of aspects to learn in this discipline for someone who comes from the outside”, comments the owner of the eponymous team. “No one is more motivated to learn than Randy Bernard.
