Romain Grosjean at Dale Coyne, it's almost done!

A few weeks after ending his career in Formula 1, Romain Grosjean is in “very advanced” discussions with Dale Coyne Racing, we learned from those around the team.IndyCar having welcomed Sébastien in the past Bourdais. The official announcement should even come next week.

Both sides are enthusiastic, although there are still a few issues to be worked out. The participation of the 34-year-old Frenchman in races on ovals (Indy500, Texas and Gateway) is reportedly currently being negotiated.

While Dale Coyne Racing has not yet announced any of its two drivers, the names of Ed Jones and Pietro Fittipaldi, two former members of the company, are also circulating. Just like Charlie Kimball's. But it is Grosjean who, today, holds the lead, we have been assured.

Earlier in the offseason, the former resident of Haas F1 Team had been approached by AJ Foyt Racing, but the discussions were unsuccessful. If this time those with Coyne came to fruition, Grosjean would join other ex-F1 drivers in the American series, such as Bourdais, Takuma Sato, Marcus Ericsson or Alexander Red.

As a reminder, with the St Petersburg Grand Prix postponed, the 2021 IndyCar Series season is scheduled to begin on April 11 at the Barber Road, Alabama.
