Scott Dixon winner in Texas ahead of Simon Pagenaud

Behind AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti, Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Honda) stands alone in the list of winning drivers in IndyCar. The quadruple champion of the discipline won yesterday on the Texas oval, and thus signs his 43rd career victory, nine lengths behind Andretti, Foyt remaining 24 points behind Dixon.

The New Zealander waited until the 130th lap to get to the front, before definitively taking control of the event for the last 119 laps. However, the race was neutralized on the 205th lap following an accident involving Will Power (Team Penske – Chevrolet) and Zachary Claman de Melo (Dale Coyne Racing – Honda).

At the restart and after the final stops, Dixon controls simon pagenaud (Team Penske) and flies towards victory and the lead of the championship, while the Frenchman will have to fight hard against Alexander Red (Andretti Autosport – Honda) to maintain his second place, his first podium of the year.

Unhappy at the Indy 500, without being able to qualify for the race, James Hinchcliffe (SPM – Honda) finished 4th ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport).

Graham Rahal (RRL – Honda), Tamuka Sato (Andretti Autosport), Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan – Honda) and Ed Jones (Chip Ganassi Racing) confirm the good form of the Japanese blocks, while Charlie Kimball (Carlin – Chevrolet) enters the top 10.

Reigning champion Josef Newgarden (Team Penske), who started from pole and led at the start of the event, finished 13th four laps down, after having encountered tire problems during the event. Note that a yellow flag was deployed on the 5th lap, following the fire on the car by Matheus Leist (AJ Foyt Enterprises – Chevrolet).
